If you are willing to cross the desert from the fairy tale world you are constantly sold by you or others, due to societal programming or due to the fear of seeing the uglier side of things, it's not going to be easy. It will require a painful process of seeing things for what they really are, not what you were told they are or what you think they should be, based on a given set of moral principles. If you are willing to cross the desert from the fairy tale world you are constantly sold by you or others, due to societal programming or due to the fear of seeing the uglier side of things, it's not going to be easy. But it's not all darkness and misery either. Life, the real world, nature, the Universe are a rather amoral bunch, that will give a mixed set of feelings, from cathartic happiness to dreadful hopelessness. It is what it is, not what we want it to be. But a better, more realistic, grounded grasp on it will leave you feeling more in control and less prone to compensating behaviors. And it will fill that void inside of you that says "this doesn't seem right" when you see, witness or do something. There are no recipes.
